Entry Level Project Accountant buy in US, Free Classifieds Ads

Job Description

Construction Project Accountants are to act as the administrator for the PM team. They are crucial in processing contracts, payments for subcontractors, material purchases, invoice processing, and all associated paperwork. PA's are the lead on maintenance of project files for the superintendents and project managers. Working with the project engineers and project managers is crucial for this role, as they need to assure that the project continues to run smoothly between all aspects below.

Essential Functions

Be prepared for Project transfer meeting

Create and send welcome letter and contact list to client

Dropbox setup and maintenance (includes items below)

Setup new job folders and new personnel folders

Assure up to date drawings are in dropbox

Upload contract exhibits, adds to contract, contracts scopes, updated contact list and purchase orders to dropbox

After receiving purchase orders from PE's - set up accounts, pay for, and schedule deliveries for equipment rentals, portable toilets, etc.

Prepare closeout binder - turnover to closeout / warranty manager

Maintain subcontractor files and assure all paperwork is submitted as required

Approve, commit, and send subcontractor contracts - subcontractors / contract verifications

Intro to major subcontractors explaining Flynn and our processes

Lien information

Assist with project billing

Change order audits (work with PE)

Process invoices

Payment paperwork distribution to subcontractors

Credit card coding - Personal / Lowes and Home Depot

Inform marketing and sales of project completion to send flowers / gifts for grand openings

Project matrix updates (work with PE's)

General project assistance - assist PM and PE with any project needs as requested

Weekly meetings - prepare for and attend

Supervisory Responsibility

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.


Work Environment

Majority of this work is done from an office setting. However during potential site visits, while performing the duties of this job, the employee can be exposed to deteriorating environments, airborne particles, and all other elements that may be present in older buildings.


Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Full-time position that will typically involve 50+ hours a week. Due to the nature of the job, the employee must be available on-call early/late hours to deal with delays, bad weather and emergencies at the job site.



Some travel may be required.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree preferred

Accounting for construction firm preferred

Advanced computer skills and experience with bidding and operational software (Microsoft Office, Timberline, and Microsoft Projects)


Work Authorization/Security Clearance
